Somber wind small

This is a from a recent Code Geass photoshoot.

Taken on a very cold Saturday evening in Cheesman park in Denver, CO.
Teca and I have been talking about this shoot for a while now, and I
think I can speak for both of us when I say that I'm very happy for
it to have finally come to fruition. We lucked out that day as we
were getting to the location JUST as a music video was wrapping up.
Other than a few skateboarders and a few onlookers it went off without
a hitch. (Well, other than the cold, lol)

The loss of natural light proved to be VERY beneficial that day as
the cloud cover was accentuated by the rather dim sunlight at that
time. It provided some really great colors in the sky.

Ok I'm just gonna stop talking now. lol.

A special thanks to Nick for helping with
the lighting. I couldn't have done it
Without you. Thank you very much.

The models are Teca, Ellome also with Ringo and Makoto from Paper Wings
cosplay group.

I hope you all enjoy the photos.

also! the fact that the skies in a lot of these shots is so dark and BIG and stuff, it lends a really apocolyptic feel to the whole shoot. Nice one! :D
everybody looks fabulous, those dresses are seriously something else.

Very beautiful colors and flares (a filter or PS?), I'm really tempted to try and recreate some of those hair flips! hahah

A few things actually. A warming gel on the "key" flash and a polarizer on the lens itself. The you simply "cool" down the white balance, up the ISO, lower the shutter speed and PRESTO...instant noodles.....WITH SHRIMP!!

Those colours weren't there just with human eyes, but just the flash reflected off the clouds? Amazing. Augh.

past the whole time we were there.

I love the epicness of this! I love how you captured the cosplayers AND the location in a perfect combination. The motion shots with the green hair are pretty fabulous, too. They almost defy gravity!

:O I've been so excited for these photos since Ellome told me about plans and I knew the costumes were gorgeous, but you have really captured them. Your use of lighting works so well with the textures everyone used, and you have an excellent sense of framing. These are all just too lovely.

Mako-chan's friend from Japan. Absolutely gorgeous use of color and amazing lighting. Thanks so much for doing this and for sharing.
