I'd like to take this opportunity to talk about a community I've recently been
invited to join. It's a relatively new community on Deviant art named World-Cosplay.
It's a page dedicated to compiling and promoting photographers of cosplay all around
the globe. It's actually pretty cool because everyone on there loves what they do
and and are very prone to encouraging people who are new to the whole photography
thing. The page was created by both Vince (Darkain) http://unforgivenmind.deviantart.com
and Hexlord http://hexlord.deviantart.com/ and I'll say personally that the page
was a FANTASTIC idea on their part. It was only established less than a week ago and
already their number of supporters has more that quadrupled. It's gonna get REALLY

and please show your support to this new community. Oh and DUDE....the PHOTOS on
this page....OMFG!!!!

in other news....

This photo was taken by Vince at this year's Dragoncon in Atlanta, Geogia and I did
post production to it. (Wonder twin powers...ACTIVATE! lol) I wish I could have gone
along with Vince, but unfortunately the opportunity didn't come up for me this year,
of course, I do plan on attending next year.

Wow, I'm surprised how quickly this year has gone by.

This is a photo of Andrea from Sakuracon 2009 in Seattle, WA.
What is there to say about this outfit that it doesn't already
say for itself? My God, how much work must she have put into
this? Well, a LOT I'm sure. This year has been SO hectic for
me personally that most of the sets from Sakuracon were never
released. Of course, the process is well underway now and I'm
happy to say that they're coming along very well. Photos from
this set in particular are coming out GREAT because of all the
purdy colors. lol.

But no seriously now...

Again, this is Andrea McFall wearing her Amano version Esper Terra
from Final Fantasy 6. (My fave out of them all!!!)

Oh man! Where do I even begin? I am VERY VERY happy to finally be releasing
these photos!

This post is slightly different from all the past Epicstage features
because rather than showcasing one costume I have three to show. The
model for this shoot is our own very much loved Lada Bordewick, also
known as Etaru.

So, a brief explanation then on to the photos I promise!

These photos were all taken on location at Nan Desu Kan (NDK) 2009
in Denver, CO. I love going to this convention because of how many
great cosplayers tend to go there. Despite the venue being rather
small in comparison to some of the major conventions, NDK does quite
well in attracting us local/tri-state kids. (pffftt...kids? LOL)

Lada, Vince, Koi, and I (among MANY others) were very busy this NDK
with shoots and cosplay. Despite that, Vince and I managed to get a lot
of wonderful shots there. There are no words to explain my feelings
towards Lada's photos (Wait till you see Koi's too!) other than to say
that this woman FAR precedes her reputation. She's almost too much "awesome"
for one person to handle over the course of a single con. If you don't
believe me, I dare you to do what Vince and I did. We were exhausted
but it was totally worth it as the shots had me jumping for joy...no
seriously, JUMPING for joy. (I'm very animated in real life) lol.

So without further ado, Idolatry Studios, in association with American

God I have so much to talk about that I don't even know where
to begin. So much has happened this year that it's daunting
to really reflect on it from the inside out. I'll do my
best to really explain my thoughts, but you should not expect
anything extravagant (or particularly well written...lol) as
I'm just typing randomly.

The Twenty Third N.E.O. photo Features Lada (Etaru) As Major Motoko
Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell.

This woman, I swear, this unconquerable woman...*at a loss for words*

How many times is she going to give me wonderful shots? I can't honestly
answer that question, nor do I care to. To be fair, I'm going through
sets in order by person, which is why (again) I have Lada featured on
sequential N.E.O. shots. Regardless of order, my god, it's to the point
where ANYONE that shoots with Lada will end up getting something awesome.

Just....aagghh!

I've been DYING to shoot this costume ever since I first saw Vince's (Darkain)
LJinto's and Lionel Lum's shots from Fanime 2009. I must've bugged Lada for
what seemed like an eternity to make sure she brought her Motoko to NDK. I was
going to bribe her with a huge sushi dinner, (That for some reason we never got
around to doing) and it worked!!! LOL

I really hope you all enjoy the shot?
